The new GY-HM660 allows reporters in the field to communicate with the studio through IFB (interruptible foldback) while streaming live HD reports from the field. JVC has also added SMPTE 2022 forward error correction for increased stream reliability. The camera also includes support for Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP), which allows a direct connection to a number of content distribution networks (CDNs) including Ustream and YouTube, together with compatibility with Streamstar's range of streaming production tools.
At the heart of the GY-HM660 are three, newly developed 1/3-inch CMOS sensors with 2.5M pixels, each capable of capturing full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution images. Featuring 12-bit processing, an excellent sensitivity of F12 (60Hz) /F13 (50Hz) at 2000 lux, and a remarkable signal-to-noise ratio, the devices provide superior precision and color reproduction with minimal aberration. For improved CMOS sensor performance, flash-band compensation is also supported.
On top of this, the GY-HM650 includes the revolutionary FALCONBRIDTM Image Processing Engine. FALCONBRIDTM is JVC's high-speed processor for advanced video applications. Delivering tremendous processing power on a single chip, the on-board engine is capable of processing large amounts of video data at exceptional speeds. The combination of FALCONBRIDTM engine, 2D DNR processing & compensation circuitry, and wide dynamic range achieve superior image quality. The GY-HM660 is equipped with two FALCONBRIDTM engines, which enable parallel processing like recording at two formats (HD + SD and HD + Web) or Live Streaming while Recording.
There's no need to purchase expensive lenses, as the GY-HM660 is equipped with the Fujinon wide angle 23x optical zoom lens to offer sufficient magnification for shooting. Delivering superior low-light performance and ensuring brightness at the tele end, the lens offers F1.6-3.0, a focal range of 29mm-667mm (35mm equivalent) and includes servo zoom, manual focus, and iris rings, along with a four-position (clear, 1/4, 1/16 and 1/64) ND filter. Other features include an optical image stabilizer and chromatic aberration correction.
Best of all is the live streaming capabilites of this camcorder. If your task involves mission-critical ENG applications, turn to the GY-HM660 as it is capable of streaming LIVE HD/SD and proxy video/ audio files via network up to 12Mbps. Coupled with the superior mobility of the camera, this wireless capability allows you to stream backhaul live to the newsroom or to a reliable cloud service such as Zixi, as well as content delivery networks such as USTREAM and YouTube using Wi-Fi or 4G-LTE network. All you need to do is press a button and you're streaming HD to the world. Full HD video footage recorded on the GY-HM660 can stream backhaul live to the target location using an adapter such as 4G LTE/3G modem, Wi-Fi LAN, or Ethernet, whichever is more stable and cost-effective. Such use of an adapter enables uploading video clips to and receiving Metadata (in XML) from the FTP server, remote controlling web server content, viewing and editing Metadata, and most of all for live streaming footage from anywhere in the world immediately after it is recorded.
It's also IP workflow ready- stable, high-quality live streaming over IP is made possible thanks to support for the new SMPTE 2022 protocol. Since its introduction in 2007, the SMPTE 2022 standard has added sections to cover more types of IP video transport. Of the standard, the GY-HM660 supports the first protocol, which is forward error correction (FEC) for real-time video/audio transport over IP networks.

Special requirements
If you do require special shipping options, get in touch with us before you buy and we might be able to sort out alternative arrangements.
Our team take every care to get your new kit to you in pristine condition, but if an item is faulty, you’re less than delighted with it, or you’ve just had a change of plan, you have a few options…
We’re happy to swap or refund any item that is confirmed as faulty (or ‘Dead on Arrival’) within 14 days of purchase, and will cover the cost of you returning it and a replacement being shipped out. Sometimes, we’ll put you in touch with a manufacturer if we think that’s the fastest way to get you a replacement, and we’ll cover the transport costs then, too.
After the 14 day DOA period, we’ll try and get you a return or repair in line with the manufacturer’s warranty. The collection and delivery charges will be covered by Jigsaw24 and the cost of the repair will be covered under the warranty, unless an inspection shows signs of damage or misuse. Again, in some instances we may offer to put you in touch with the manufacturer, but only when this is the quickest route to getting you a repair. Your statutory rights are not affected.
If you wish to return non-faulty goods, please contact support@jigsaw24.com or call 03332 400 999. Wherever possible we will try to facilitate a return/refund but any request for return is at our discretion and where applicable, restocking fees may be required to reimburse any losses.
You can cancel your contract within 14 days of receiving your kit, and another 14 to return it to us once the order is cancelled. Any requests for refund or credit made outside the 14 day window are at our discretion. We’ll exchange or refund any goods returned to us in full working order, but if an item isn’t faulty, you’ll need to cover the cost of returning it to us. The item(s) returned must be as new and in the original packaging. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Returning any software, even if it’s sealed in its original box, is at our discretion and will depend entirely on the individual manufacturer's policy. For example, some software will automatically allocate you a non-returnable licence, even if it is a boxed product. However, if the product is still a current part of our on-hand stock, and we’re able to confirm from the relevant manufacturer or supplier that they’re happy that licence hasn’t been allocated, we will try to take back any sealed software returned within seven days of purchase.
ESD (Electronic Software Delivery), in which you’re supplied with a licence and a web link in order to download your purchase. As there’s no physical packaging, the licence has to be treated in the same way as an unsealed box, which means we’re unable to take this back, so please double check you’re buying the right item! Give the sales team a bell on 03332 400 888 if you need any help.
Products that have contact with the ear, nose or throat can only be returned for a full refund if sent back with seals unbroken and in an unused condition (you must exercise reasonable care when evaluating the product as you would in a shop).
We understand that customers may be dissatisfied with the performance of products that raise hygiene concerns after they have tried them out. If this is the case please contact us and we may be able to offer credit for another purchase (subject to inspection of the returned product) or to purchase the product back as second hand (taking into account that we would need to dispose of the item).
We’ll deliver your goods during normal business hours (7:30am-6:00pm) to the address you gave us when you placed your order. Unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing, the delivery times given by us are a best estimate, and we can’t be held responsible for any loss, delay or damage you may incur as a result of adverse circumstances like bad weather, traffic etc.
Any instances where you might be unable to pay your debts (winding-up, receivership, administration, creditor arrangement, bankruptcy) or you commit a material breach of the contract, we may immediately terminate our contract with you, suspend or cancel further delivery, and/or recover any unpaid items.
